Jeff and Andrea's Wedding Album

By eyecandyphotography
Aug 09, 2011

Jeff and Andrea's wedding was the funnest wedding ever! I was really sick and completely hoarse and lost my voice by the end of the night but I was having so much fun, I didn't even notice or care. The day started out with a beautiful wedding ceremony overlooking the local pond where they sometimes fish. The ceremony was simple and sweet. After, we took various shots around the water. My favorites are when Andrea grabs her fishing pole and starts fishing in her wedding dress.

Their reception was at Willard bay where friends and family brought their boats and water toys. They had one helluva party! Their first dance was overlooking the lake and the wind had picked up so cotton was flying all around us making it seem magical.

After cake cutting I had the entire bridal party sit on a water weenie out on the lake. We discussed doing some shots in the water of Andrea and Jeff but this seemed like the perfect opportunity for a couple friends to douse everybody. They were all really good sports and I think we shocked a few people on the beach. It was awesome! Then of course I got pics of both of them in the water. One of the groomsmen tried water skiing with his suit on-tie and all. They even had little party favors like pens and cup holders that said, "This was stolen from Jeff and Andrea's wedding" It really was the funnest wedding ever!

Now I asked the bride and groom in our initial consultation what was the one thing they would like see come from their special day. They wanted it to be fun and memorable. When they look back on it, I think they can say it was an awesome wedding day!

Bobbi

By eyecandyphotography
May 23, 2011

Bobbi's Senior pictures were a blast to take! I took pictures of her and her sister a few years ago and it is fun to watch and see people change.

The day was overcast which had them worried, but as long as there is no rain- the clouds act as a perfect soft-box. It creates really beautiful light! We went down to a pond I typically go to and with all the rain we have been getting, a lot of places were flooded. I was determined to go to some of the locations and luckily Bobbi was willing to brave wading through the cold waters to get the pictures. It was quite an adventure.

Bridger Babe / Utah Senior Portrait Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
May 11, 2011

Bridger is a babe. That's all I really have to say.

We got a lot of pictures and not one of them was bad. He is very photogenic. He was so respectful to his cute mom, and was not afraid to just be himself. I hope I can raise my boys to be like that.   J.J., you have done one helluva job!

  1. libby says:

yes he is a babe and, helluva job is right!

Higgins Family / Utah Family Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
May 11, 2011

I met the Higgins family up at Farmington pond for their family portraits. The one nice day in between a lot of storms and the sun was going down so we had to work fast. I love it when the sun is in just the right spot to be a hairlight, just rimming the subjects. I loved how the pictures turned out!

Elisha / Utah Portrait Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
May 11, 2011

Elisha was a doll to take pictures of. We had so much fun together, it was easy to loose track of time. These pictures were not just any other photoshoot either. She was doing this to update the engagement pictures in her mother's home now that she is no longer married. I got a few traditional shots for mom, and then I set out to making Elisha feel sexy and wanted again. Elisha is a strong, confident woman ready to take on the world! Thanks for allowing me to capture this transition in your life!

May 02, 2011

Can you believe this baby is just under 1 month old? She has the cutest rolls and is heavy! Her mamma looks just like she did before getting pregnant, skinny, skinny! It probably didn't help that she was sick her entire pregnancy and worked until 5 days before she delivered Haylee. In the end it is worth all our suffering because our children our priceless. Look at what a doll she is.

Jeff and Andrea / Utah Wedding Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
May 02, 2011

Jeff and Andrea were real troopers for their engagement pictures. We were gallivanting through the woods, bushes, around the pond, and snow to get the perfect shot. I got twigs and leaves in my hair and my boots were soaking wet (note to self....Don't wear suede boots with fur just because they are really-really cute) The thing is, I didn't notice any of those things until we were done because I was having so much fun! They brought along "Bitsy" their beautiful dog, and their Rock crawler truck they take on trips a lot. He just happened to park it up on a rock for the pictures next to a sign that says, " Unlawful to operate a motorized vehicle in any area other than designated roadways." He-he-he!:) People walking by could not help but stare wondering what was going on.  Jeff took Andrea to a place in Moab called "Hell's Revenge" and proposed to her on beautiful red rock overlooking the Colorado River and valley. Their friend was along and got pictures so I had to include one. They are having their wedding reception on a beach and people are bringing their boats and toys. How fun is that? I am so happy to be spending these happy times with Jeff and Andrea! Such a fun couple!

Baby Mason / Utah Newborn Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
Apr 14, 2011

Newborns are very different and sometimes difficult to photograph I am finding out. You are working on their schedule. We try to do everything we can to make it so they are tired enough to sleep through all my poking, prodding, and posing. Mason did not like to be naked! Even though he was really tired he was determined to be stubborn. These are my favorites from 2 different days of shooting. A lot of work, but it was worth it!

Tiana's modeling pictures for portfolio

By eyecandyphotography
Apr 14, 2011

This photo-shoot was totally rockin! We were originally planning on going out to Salt-air but a storm was coming in so we stayed in Bountiful. Even though it was freezing, the wind made for some nice hair blowing glamour shots. :) Would you believe she just barely turned 13? I had to keep reminding myself of that every time we changed poses or locations. Would you also believe that this was her first test shoot? She was very natural and extremely photogenic! Totally made to do this. These are just some of my favorites. There were sooooooo many good ones to choose from, I had a hard time deciding. I would love to take pictures like this every day. Can't wait for our next shoot Tiana! Your a babe!

  1. Kristen Duke says:

These are beautiful images! I tried to find an email for you and couldn't fine one. I am a Texas photographer traveling to Bountiful at the end of next month. I will be taking portraits for a friend of mine and I wondered if you could help me find a great location in the Bountiful area. I will be attending a wedding at the Bountiful temple and the pictures will be after that (not of the wedding party) and I want to stay close to that location. Do you have any urban or nature suggestions? I would LOVE to capture some mountains in the background because I don't have that in Texas, but I also love a great colorful building or quaint historic street. Thanks so much! kristen duke

  2. Kristen, Thanks! Bountiful has a lot of cool places. Down at the Bountiful pond(in west bountiful) there are some cool spots with grassy fields and the mountains in the background. Main St between 400 North and 500 South has some cool spots. Mueller park canyon is right up by the temple. Those are my go to spots.

Nicci's Maternity / Utah Maternity Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
Apr 11, 2011

What a fun and fabulous day! Josh and Nicci were adorable! I love doing sittings where I am emotionally connected and feel inspired. This was one of those shoots. Nicci has a tattoo on her upper back of a star-lookin shape with an eye and a tear falling in the middle.  It represented the two babies she previously lost. Blooming with life now and glowing with joy, I had to get this! She was concerned about back acne from all the crazy hormones us women have to battle during pregnancy. It wasn't even bad, but Photoshop took care of a couple spots, and Whhaaalllaaa! Nicci, your gorgeous!

Chris & Kara / Utah Wedding Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
Apr 11, 2011

Warmer weather is around the corner and so are weddings! Getting engagement pictures done this time of year is always tricky because it is a gamble with the weather. It rained/snowed all day so we shot most everything inside. Chris and Kara were fun to hang out with. We just did their family pictures for Christmas, and if you recognize the continuing color scheme it is because the are the ones responsible for utefans.net. Infact, they are getting married at the Rice Eccles Stadium. I am so excited!

Red Rock Maternity / Utah Maternity Photographer

By eyecandyphotography
Mar 12, 2011

My family and I went down to Las Vegas so I could attend WPPI (Wedding Portrait Photographers International) Convention. Which I will blog about that later, it seems I am so busy just living life I forget to blog sometimes. I feel controlled by my computer between putting pictures on facebook, checking emails, editing, that when I do have time to blog I just don't feel like it. I mean-is anybody reading this anyway? I need to find balance. Anyway... Before I let the whole month of March go by, I had to post my favorite picture of the year so far. My sister drove up from Cali and we went up to Red Rock to take some Maternity portraits. It was a crazy day! The place we were staying at shut the pools for safety reasons because it was soooo windy! We had planned for this to be the day to do pictures and I was a little concerned that it wasn't going to go as good as what I pictured in my head. We borrowed a towel from our hotel room, (yes-borrowed! We did return it when we were done) and hiked up Calico Springs to this huge rock overlooking an amazing canyon of Red Rock. Out of the 50 frames shot at this one spot, there were only a couple where her hair was not flying all over the place. This picture is a combo of two put together-Can you tell? The wind ended up working in our favor blowing the sheet and pressing up against the contours of her body. I tell ya she looks like a goddess. Thanks for being my muse, sis!

I had the best day photographing the coolest family on earth. We waited 3 weeks for the weather to be good on a day that worked best. Thank you for being patient. It was worth it. We did our Family pictures at Saltair this year. I wanted something more urban and edgy. The old train with graffiti is so unique and fun, I just love shooting out there. I soooooooooo miss the warm weather though.   Our card this year is a 5x7 on a pearl stock paper. It has a metallic feel and look to go along with my edgy family photos.

I took my 3 yr old to her first fashion show this past Saturday. It was a full house! And the designers were amazing! Check out The Hive site here.

Fashion Bags

I Love purses! What modern girls doesn't? I had a fun shoot today photographing all sorts of purses and bags. My friend from Heart-N-Soul Crafters brought 3 boxes full of goodies for me to photograph to put on her website. We just grabbed a simple white sheet as our backdrop, plugged in a Hot light, bounced light back from the reflector and wallaaah. Lot of simple pictures of her products.

These bags are super affordable and would make awesome Christmas presents or birthday gifts. Hint! Hint!

They also do sign -in books that are very well made. Call for an appointment to view pricing and options for your wedding!

Mandarin

By eyecandyphotography
Nov 06, 2010

I went out with some girlfriends to "The Mandarin". The best Chinese food! I have been coming here for years! The atmosphere and service is unique and authentic. It is a little small, but they make you feel like family. Which reminded me, last year we accidentally left my son there. He was 6 at the time and had gone to use the bathroom as we were leaving. I thought my parents took him and they assumed we had grabbed him. It was around the holidays so we had all our family together and it was chaos. We didn't realize he was missing until we got a call from someone at the mandarin. It was like "Home Alone". I thought, "ya right, who would leave their son like that" Oh Boy. We will never forget that night. Anyway...back to the Mandarin...........

As soon as you walk in the aroma immediately lifts your mood. Check them out on facebook!

We all ordered our favorite dish and shared. Pork chow mein, Honey Walnut shrimp, Beef and green beans, Almond chicken, and Cashew chicken are all must-haves.

I don't know why I keep blogging about food. It's not my photography specialty. I am just passionate about GOOD food. And when I have my camera...Why not document it?

Sushi!

By eyecandyphotography
Nov 05, 2010

I LOVE sushi! I love good food. period. Down the street is Fuji Sushi. They have the best seaweed salad! I get the big one called the California salad with their in house ginger dressing that is to die for. We usually get the Vegas roll every time. The other pictures are the Sammy Roll, and Dynamite Roll.

I'm always giving Jordan crap about not taking me on enough dates. So when he suggested sushi I jumped in the car! It is so nice to get away from the kids once in a while and enjoy a good meal  with out any prep work or cleanup. What girl doesn't like to be spoiled once in a while? And, doesn't he look so handsome? I love you Jordan!

Utah Family Photography

By eyecandyphotography
Nov 01, 2010

I took this family right behind my house at the elementary school my kids go to. It doesn't have to be a fancy location. The simplest backgrounds can make the nicest pictures sometimes. I love it when you can see personality and not just "cheese" shots. The sun was about to set so I had to hurry. I had suckers in my pockets to help bribe the boys which I thought was a good idea at the time, but once I mentioned them the littlest one cried until I gave it to him. I need to learn all the tricks when it comes photographing children. What works with some doesn't work with others. After having 4 kids myself you would think I would have a better system down, but no. I don't think threats would work with other kids the way it works with mine. :)

Skateboarding

By admin
Nov 01, 2010

I took my boys to a skatepark in Springville, UT and this kid named Matt was doing things I only see on TV. It was crazy! I wasn't sure that what he was doing was even safe. My boys felt nerdy wearing their helmets while getting maybe 8 inches of air, but as a mom I couldn't just watch them crash without protecting them. Fun

Bridal Fair

By eyecandyphotography
Oct 17, 2010

I wanted to post pics from the bridal show I did October 16th. It was fun to meet with lots of brides and get to meet the other vendors. It was my first booth and I learned a lot. Jordan helped me build the wall, and get it all ready. A lot of work went into designing, building, painting, and decorating the booth. The wall was built into 3 sections using 4x8 sheets of wood cutting the outside panels 1 ft so it would fit into the 10ft space. The panels were lag-bolted in the back and held down in the back with salt bags. I wanted it to feel like a small living room. I also wanted to stand out.  I had a blast working next to Brandon from Wedding Smith. He was so much fun to talk with. If you need invitations, check him out here.

  1. The best part of this show for me was to watch other vendors drop by to take pictures of Candy's booth and compliment her on such an awesome booth. Its the ultimate compliment to be admired by your professional peers like that.

EyeCandyPhotography by far had the best setup, not that i'm biased or anything!

Tea Party

Royal India on Main St. in Bountiful is my favorite restaurant. Their Indian cuisine is soooo delicious. The "Shrimp Kurma" is what I order every time, along with Palak soup. The soup is totally unique. I've had other Indian restaurants version of it and nothing come close.
